The news on a Christmas tree !
[2003-24-12]

It is with a heavy heart that I announce this news today : Some strange illness cleared our teams. Our most trusted and skilled detectives are on the case and already, one thing is sure : We are in the middle of a strong crisis of holidays, a terrifying and powerful disease even though the effects never last long in this time of the year.
And so here I am today, in a deserted office, sharing worried looks with the couple of co-workers still alive.

But I'm getting away from the topic. On the list today for this early news : The patch 1.65, a new GOA content patch, a new French Gamemaster, some information about the next free add-on Frontiers and some community news to finish.

Patch 1.65 :

We wanted to start the testing of the patch 1.65 before the end of the year and here we are today, with a test server (Gorre) up and running. The French testing phase started this Monday and we already have a couple of minor bugs being fixed with Mythic.

GOA Content patch :

It's Christmas time afterall and we wanted to use this day to put a little content patch live on all servers. Part of it is especially for today, the rest will be there to stay.

A note regarding the "here to stay" content, we are introducing new NPCs on all servers today. They will be known as "Camelot Criers" in Albion, "Skalds of Midgard" in Midgard and "Bards of Tir Na Nog" in Hibernia. Wandering around in most of the key places of the realms, these characters will be a bit like the already existing criers (local bards and tavern keepers) but will be dedicated to GOA content only. In the future, they will also be a good way for us to spread rumours, information coming from the authorities of the realms and the like. Do not hesitate to check them out when you see them !

Orcanie :

After months of loyal services, Nemesys / Tamy, French Game Master of Orcanie, decided to turn a page and to begin a new journey. Before leaving, she delivered the keys of the server she loved to Nerhya, our new recruit.
Good luck to you Nemesys, and welcome abroad Nerhya !

Frontiers information :

Earlier this week, Mythic published yet another map of the coming free add-on focusing on RvR : Frontiers. This time it is the proposed frontier map of Hibernia and while nothing is really set in stones yet, it looks very promising and will certainly give a new way to approach RvR in Dark Age of Camelot.

You can find more information on this on Mythic's Camelot Herald here and if you missed the Midgardian Map, you can check it here as well.

...and two quick notes to finish for today :

The first one regarding the publication of the first edition of the project in testing "Focus on", you can check it here. We will keep a close watch on various community forums for the feedback regarding this.

A second note is for the ones of you contacting us via RightNow to ask for some "decorum" and assistance in player events. While we do help sometimes as said in the last news, we need some time to do so. The best is usually to plan your event at least a couple weeks ahead and to contact us then.

That will be all for today, in the name of all the Dark Age of Camelot - Europe team, I wish you all a merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays !

Clarifications
[2003-23-12]

Greetings everyone,

Yesterday, a Spanish news bulletin was published regarding the arrest of a Spanish computer hacker suspected to have participated in illegal actions related to Dark Age of Camelot.

Legal proceedings are still in process and we are not allowed to go into details but we would like to clarify an important point already announced some months ago in a Friday news and this point is regarding the credit card information. GOA does not hold any credit card information of its customers, this process is totally independent from us and is dealt only by our billing partner Bibit. Therefore, the "hacker" could not have access to any billing information of our customers.

On that, good hunting everyone and have a good day.

Merchants of the Realms : Rejoice !
[2003-22-12]

Upon your next connection to the servers of Dark Age of Camelot, you will notice a small download of a file called game.dll. While this download will be very short, crafters, raiders and merchants of the Realms will rejoice !
This little patch will fix the display problem for all Foundations Consignment Merchants and you will no longer have to worry about this very tempting Ring of Power being worth 2 platinum pieces, or 2pp and 999999 gold !

Let the business begin !
