just started my lock and ive been reading up on warlock builds but nothings really an indepth PvE build.

i found a good one for priests which shows you where to put the points by each level and what the goal of these are, is their anything like this for warlocks?

PvE, go mainly Affliction. Always put the 5 points into Demonic Embrace so we are not as squishy. Other than that get improved Corruption, Imp Lifetap and Fel Concentration. I put the other 3 points needed to get to Fel Concentration into Supression, but put them where you feel it will be best. Nightfall and Grim reach are great as well. Instant Shadowbolts? Yes, please.

With this build you will be "Drain Tanking". Which basically is cast all your DoTs, lifetap a couple times and spam Drain Life. I usually use the Succubus when I grind with this build, but feel free to use the Imp, more mana is always nice. No point really in using the void, as he is supposed to be a tank for you, and not a DD like the others. The Felhunter I have never really used so I could not tell you whether or not to use that pet.

Affliction works for me as well without the drain tanking. Basically, I use the void on this build to tank and then wand things to death.

This allows me to use less mana and draws less aggro since the wand acts as another dot.

I like this tactic for two reasons:

1. I don't like getting hit. It's why I picked a pet class.
2. I conserve mana. Since we're not mages with the ability to make cheap mana drinks this tactic keeps me going longer without a pause to drink.

It's so funny how people think the same thing is so obvious..lol.

The one thing I think almost all locks agree on is that the improved corruption points are really worthwhile, no matter your build if you can spare those points.

If you do some searches on google I bet you can find some different write ups. The was one on the warcraft warlock forums I found very useful awhile back, before I read it I had a bunch of points in cataclysm. Never realized it was only saving me mana on destruction spells.. which don't take near the mana of shadow spells anyway. I mean, our mana hog is really the shadow bolt.

And, by PvE do you mean grinding and leveling? When I started my lock, I started as destruction with some affliction. This really did not work for me. But I didn't know much, I was just sticking points in boxes. After awhile, someone told me to read more about demonology, I was around level 30 because I was able to get master demonology if I respecced and spent all my points. I did. My stamina increase just pwnd. I could not believe it. My style of play is to have my VW tank when I was leveling.

Now that I have hit 60 and my armor is better, and I'm usually not trying to kill things way over my level I usually go out killing with my imp. And, my build is not demonology any more as I have specced for more damage to raid. However I still remember how much of a huge difference that MD made for me the day I switched.
