Is it worth getting a mount as a shaman. Or is the ghost wolf better?

Ghost wolf is level 20 with 40% speed boost.

Mounts are level 40 and 60% or 100% speed boost.

You should really consider getting the mount because its a much faster way of transportation... the wolf could be nice to have when you running short distances and crossing water....

Mounts aren't as essential for Shamans/Druids since they can already move pretty damn fast, but it's still worth getting.

And if you have the talent Imp. Ghost Wolf is a lifesaver even with a mount in PvP.

Imp ghost wolf is worthless, go resto to get Nature's Swiftness and save your talent points
