Are Paladins a good first character?

I have never played a paladin before but from what i hear thay r good startin off because even tho they dont do much damage they can heal themselves. Some dont like them because its like playin in god mode because u never die and they say it not very challenging so i say they sound pretty good to start off with.

hah, now that I've started my pally...whoever said we dont die a lot...is a liar. Maybe it's just cuz I solo a lot.

I've never played a Pally, but with my main (hunter) I've NEVER lost against a Pally in PvP. That should tell you something about thier supposed "god" mode. If you want god mode, you have tok play a shaman, the horde equivilent ;).

You only win cuz the Hunter isnt as nerfed as we are

Nefar that depends on how you specc you should go holy for difvine favor and the other talent underneath it that gives full mana back after crits and the maybe go full protection for repent or go retri for seal of command which can be good burst sometimes... mostly depends on what auras you use i usually use devotion aura or concentration aura depending on how many im fighting and if im getting ganked other then that IMO paladins are a tough opponent to take down...

i wouldnt recommend a pally as a first char. they are faily boring in my opinion, but some people love them. try a couple different classes to see what you like. dont just stick with one. also, try different sides (horde and alliance) to see what ya like.
