Gnomish Paladin Petition!

I have been playing MMORPGs since the first day Everquest went public, and since that time, I have been a fan of the little people.  I don't mean just anyone who is short, I mean the shortest of the short, the gnomes!  In Everquest, there were no gnomish paladins either, but the public has since changed Verant's mind. I was a gnome (or the shortest race if gnomes were not a choice) for all my years of MMORPGing, and I would hate to see the shortest people continue to pull a straw that matches their height.

I have created a petition that you can sign asking Blizzard Entertainment to allow Gnomish characters to play as paladins.  Please give it a read, and sign it if you agree to what it is saying.  If you are like the rest of the people who have signed this petition, and believe that it's time to stop "overlooking" the little people in MMORPGs, make your voices heard!

The link to the petition is:  http://www.petitiononline.com/Xrix/petition.html

Paladins are meant to be mighty knights who can both deal and take great amounts of beating. I just can't imagine the smal fragile gnomes fit into that picture. Let's face it, gnomes are not famous for their body but for their brains. A gnome 2 handed sword is about as large as a human short sword

i think they should have included high elves instead of Gnomes in the alliance.  they play a much bigger role in the warcraft universe than gnomes in my opinion.  but, gnomes are pretty cool in there own way

I don't remember too many high elves compared to gnomes in most of warcraft. Even the gyrocopter is orignally the Gnomish Flying Machine. I think it was a risky but good choice on blizzard's part to stay true to the Alliances roots. I'd like to see high elves in an expansion, if, and only if they're MUCH different than the night elves. I can't stand these MMORPGs with 4+ different types of elves, halflings, quarterlings, eigthlings and even sixteenthlings in EQ2!

And then they should add ogres into the horde. That Ogre idea owned.

Back on Topic: I dont think gnomes should be able to be paladins, they're more of the mechanical innovators, rather than the righteous saviors of their people.

oh yeah.  high elves and night elves are a completly different race now.  way different.  and i dunno, im glad blizzard included the gnomes back into the story of warcraft, but,  High elves still have a big role to fill!  I am sure they will be in some expansion, i mean, what other race could join the alliance?

I don't think Blizzard is going to have any new races for a while, but the obvious choice for alliance would be high elves or blood elves. The obvious choice for horde would be ogre, and then to a lesser extent; goblin. I just don't see it happening for a while, though -- because included in the starting package is eight races and nine classes, which is more than enough to satisfy the subscribers of a baby MMORPG that still has plenty of potential to grow.

A Gnome Paladin just wouldn't fit right.  Imagine a Tauren Mage, it just doesn't work.  I beileve gnomes should very well be in this game, the brains and the humor of the gnome can go a long way!  I am not looking too far into the future for this game, but expansions if done right (EQ ruined it with tooooooo many expansions) can always make the game better, and i'll be excited about that when I start playing this game.

The problem is that a Gnome wouldn't really be a paladin.  Historically the Gnomes in Warcraft rely on technology and science.  A paladin on the other hand relies on his faith in a god.  Gnomes use technology where as paladins use their spirit.  It just wouldn't fit.

Gnomes would suck as Paladins.
