I got a few. In fire, how is the radius on Dragons Breathe? would you compare it to Cone of Cold without Arctic reach, with the talent, or completely different? Is Molten Fury worth the points? And not exactly related to talents, but how is pvp against other casters with Counterspell being on the global cooldown? Is what I'm reading on the forums about +spell damage on gear literally decreasing (IE, the epic level 70 arena gear has less spell damage than the blue level 60 pvp set) true? |

Looking For Group Posts: 138 Joined: 4 Nov 2006 | I don't neccessarily have a question about the mechanics of the talents, mostly just irritated commentary Like, why are there so many minute mana cost talents? 1% per point is a really pathetic number compared to Frost Channeling's 5% per point. And, why is our clearcasting so damn expensive =[ WTB 1-3 point Clearcasting Where's the Arcane (or all) Range talent? If the talent were spread to all trees (Like Spell Power), it would obviously be 5%/10% to not overpower or underwhelm the current range talents. Improved Blink... uh, yeah. Why does this exist again? Pyromaniac and Playing with Fire just seems like complete wastes of talent points. Playing with Fire loses more than you gain at 3 points for 3% Increase to incoming and outgoing damage. I liked it better at 6%. If they're going to screw us over, make it a decent damage boost. =/ Although, ideally, this would be 6% increased outgoing and 3% increased incoming. Pyromaniac should do something flashy, why make talents so vanilla? Pyromaniac: Increase crit chance by 3% and restores 3% of maximum mana when you crit. Y'know, getting excited and whatever when you see fire? Oh well, it's still vanilla, and may even be worse than the previous effect, I don't feel like doing maths in the morning =p Why don't any of the talents help Pyroblast to have more than three uses in the game? (Empowered Fireball and Improved Fireball would be great places to help Pyroblast! =p) (Opener while solo, opener against a Polymorph, PoM bait) Improved Flamestrike: I don't think 15% crit really improves Flamestrike -that- much. Either the baseline spell or the talent needs an improvement. Frozen Core: Yeah, this is extremely lackluster for its depth and cost. Just needs to be removed, period, in my opinion. Arctic Winds: I'm sure -someone- will find it useful, now, if this reduced spell hit as well, it would be great. Mmmyeah. I swear that I had more thoughts earlier this morning. Edit: Oh yeah! Improved Arcane Missiles should improve Arcane Blast as well. Butttt, I haven't gotten to use Arcane Blast -yet-, so I dunno how good/bad it is. Just seems like IAM is rather pricey at 5 points. |

Looking For Group Posts: 138 Joined: 4 Nov 2006 | Oh yeah... does Arcane Missile-spec really suck compared to a normal bolt-build? I'm really, really excited about a full/heavy Arcane Spec. (Just wish some of the talents were cheaper >_<) Edit: Does Arcane Missiles have a 143% coefficient rather than a 120% coefficient now? Also, have you found the gear to be any better than what would be found from Molten Core/Blackwing Lair/AQ20/ZG? Presently, I have ~500 damage and 4 Hit/Crit with dual trinkets, so I'm wondering how much of an upgrade I'll even get until high levels. =/ |

The Mage They Call Jayne Posts: 4265 Joined: 20 Dec 2005 | It's great when it's out. Well... I dunno. less utility than lock pets. It provides decent extra DPS and a ranged, targetable Frost Nova--which, don't get me wrong, is excellent for Shatter builds. But there aren't any group benefits and it only lasts 45 seconds out of three minutes. My damage actually seems to be decreasing in small doses. But when given a choice between a shoulder piece with, like, 5 stamina and 33 damage... and 31 stamina and 28 damage, I honestly think it's pretty clear which to choose :P I have 22% to crit with Molten Armor up and 465 spell damage, from 18% to crit and 491 spell damage in live. In that gear I have 41 Spell Hit rating, which = 4% to hit level 67... if I want, I can boost that to 112 hit rating (10.67% against level 67) but I fall to around 430 damage and 20% crit with Molten Armor. |
