Dungeon Crawler Posts: 722 Joined: 2 Jun 2004 | I have leveld my mage up to 47 using frost and haven't noticed any problems at all. I probably could get my DPS up a little by respec'n to fire, but meh. I love the utility that frost gives me. I love my two O'Shyt buttons, Ice Barrier and Ice Block. I am invested heavily into frost at the moment, 36 points deep. The thing I love about my build is I can usually kill a mob off before it even gets to me, taking zero damage. And in PVP if things go bad I can usually get away. I've escaped many times from people a lot higher level than me. Throw on Ice Barrier, pop a frost Nova, blink, sheep and then run like the wind (Swiftness Potion FTW). This is my build so far: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mages/talents.html?0020000000000000000000000000005050231023501351 The rest of my points will go into Arcane until I get to 60. After I hit 60 I will start to mess with different builds to find my place. But right now im leaning towards frost as my main elemental type. [Edited by Hanzotori at 8:57 AM on 11/8/2005] |

Master Looter Posts: 2159 Joined: 30 Mar 2004 | I've always preferred an arc/fire build for pvp, for the higher dps to burn down people faster. |
Master Looter Posts: 1604 Joined: 26 Oct 2003 | But if you get that 2200 crit, you've pretty much won. And you have a 50%+normal crit chance to get it, if you only cast 1 frostbolt while they're frozen, that is :) |
Master Looter Posts: 2692 Joined: 5 Nov 2003 | The main thing about a fire/arc build is the ability to load off: Polymorph (optional, depends on situation) arcane power Even without crits this is very powerful, and allows you to kill warriors in sometimes just 3 hits. And spamming scorch is golden, very nice if you want to be lame in AB etc, just hide behind a stone and load of this. True, you dont get frostbite, but I really dont miss it. Then I respecced to Arcane/fire, mainly to kill off shamans and druids. But hey, you win some you lose some --My experiences as a pvp mage-- |
Hi Everyone^^:
I'm new to WoW, also I started a undead mage now was lvl 9,
and becoz I gonna reach lvl 10 pretty soon so I don't want waste the
credit point into wront talent, because some of my friend says
Ice/Arcane build was the best but it was hard to lvl btw lvl1~40
and it better to start with Fire then reset to Ice is that true?,
so can anyone give me some suggestion? thx all
