Different Weapon options for Druid?

Hi! Im playing a Druid on the pvp server and im fairly low level (12). Was wondering if I should just stick with Staves my whole druid career or if there is something(s) better out there that would be more effective and fun. A friend of mine suggested dagger/shield but my Tauren Druid doesnt seem to be able to train shield (if its trainable, i really dont know).

Anyhow, any suggestions would help since im relatively new to this game and would like to make the most out of my character. Please keep in mind that I am on the PvP server and am looking for decent PvP options, not so much PvE.

Thanks!

I don't know if you'll be going staves your whole career, but they are a good choice for lower levels.  You'll just have to wait until you level more to see what other weapon options are open for you.  Also take into account what skills/abilities you can learn.

Also matters how you play.

spellcaster form can use INT

bear can use Str

cat can use Agl

Im currently using dagger and off hand item (currently Druidic Veldust - Bonus to 2 stats + extra mana regen). until I can find a weapon that can give me the regen bonus that the off hand item does Im sticking to this.  I heal / nuke / crowd control in parties and solo starting with DoT, Regen Heal, Bear form.

I'm a lvl 18 druid so I'm fairly new as well.  I still use a staff, and it's working fine for me.  I haven't found any other reason to change.  But, as the previous posts did say, as you level you will probably find other options you might want to consider.  I'm looking forward to my cat form at 20 :)  And I'm more worried about how I want to spend my talent points, I could use pointers there.

My approach is to pay some attention to building up the other skills such as dagger and unarmed combat just in case there's a need in the future - hey, maybe duelling without weapons.  I don't know if it's worthwhile but it keeps me amused when I'm grinding a little xp :)
