Well as what I understand the original idea for languages in Wow has been taken back by blizzard and I hope they are implented soon I have some idea for the languages:
Well first all differnt races should have their own language, in the beginning there should not be any understanding of other races language than your own excluding some examples, like undead and humans have same.
Now what I would like to see is that when you start you can only your own races language, and thus cant speak with an other totally different race, but there should be exclusion to this, like as undead and human share their language. Orcs and tuarans same thing with gnomes and dwarvens have racial traits that allow them to understand eachother beter as they start as same locations.
And for the night elves and trolls, well as they would have their own langauge and would not have another race that can learn their langauge easily at the first, why not give them also a racial trait so night elves and trolls can learn any other language in a easier way than the others.
They could aslo make it so that the max of what you can understand of another race is lets say 95%, meaning that there is for any word someone speak to you or you speak to someone else there is a 5% chanse for every word to come out as compelte gibrish for you or the other guy, this should be excluded for dwarves, gnomes, tauren and orcs they can understand 100% of eachother due to their racial trait and starting in the same location. |

There's an option to change the language you /say things in. For Tauren, thier language is Taurahe ( or something along those lines), Orcs is Orcish, Undead actually speak Gutterspeak, not common. This last one is strange because I know in certain parts you can actually understand the common speach, although you don't know common. Like in the beginning area, the head of the Scarlet thingy speaks so you can understand it, while when all the other Scarlet followers speak in a language you can't understand. Either this means the head Scarlet guy can understand and speak Gutterspeak, or it's a bug. |
