Master Looter Posts: 2159 Joined: 30 Mar 2004 | What you're referring to is Hero classes, which are advancements and not original classes. But it won't be next patch, it will be quite awhile from now, I think. They're still in development, last I heard. How exactly hero classes will work, they haven't said. But it will require level 60 and be very difficult to obtain. |

Monks wouldn't be such a bad idea to be honest, they would not have to use weapons, because their fists would be their most powerful weapon. But what proficiency in armor would we give them? |
Master Looter Posts: 2210 Joined: 21 Jan 2004 | Old but nice thread didnt realize had decent thoughts. Hey in one of my magazines interviews the DeathKnight is on the table as a hero class. so atleast we know thats comming. As for the Ninja and Samurai thing.....it wouldnt fit with WoW lore would it? Cause blizzard is trying to keep the Warcraft lore intact with the game. But the necromancer is possible .....hell how about summoners too as the counter class for ally. Since the Dalaran Mages have summoners.....horde will get necros. makes sense to me. As for the asian type classes...I likem and all but doesnt fit in the WoW lore at all im afraid. But samurai are the ones wearign armor, skilled in polearms, bows, and swordmanship. Now just for entertainment the Idea of Samurai would be cool cause I lovem. Played as one in FFXI for 1 year. I think to make sams work...Givem combos like rogues since they are swordsman using styles and techniques. Givem magical strikes like Ninja Scroll style type stuff^^ But since they would be a Melee powerhouse with sword combos kinda like a rogue with 2 handed weapon (overly powerful)......balance it by making them use Cloth or leather till 40 then they can use chainmail. Maybe give them a detect stealth talent also ....great class to counter rogues. anyway just ideas..... Eq2-burned the Dvd |

Master Looter Posts: 2210 Joined: 21 Jan 2004 | Changing current classes would screw everything up. Gear and all....talent tree changes just are not the route to go unless something is screwed...for example the Hunters Survival Tree...what a joke. But they are fixing that...and in blizz words "making survival talent actually help you survive" Adding hero classes soon and I can't wait. I really am hoping for new classes to play those of us at 60 since January are bored with the other classes now. DeathKnight Summoners Necromancers supposedly on the table on some forums chatter and false/true leaks...can't tell. There is no way around the facts that Hero classes are comming. So let's see what they give us.....I hope for Necromancer. That would be my next level 60. As for Samurai......legend wise they are quick, non armor wearing, speedy with the blade skill. Very perceptive martial artist. To a degree stealthy but honor wise they wouldnt be sneaking up and killing people. The fact of them: They wore armor...specialized in polearms, swords, bows and horseback riding....they were the all around Knights of Japan basically. Anywho...Samurai class wouldnt fit the lore of wow...nor would a ninja.....Deathknights,Necromancers would.... WHen we get more hero class info ...that is when things will unfold. For now we are just guessing. Eq2-burned the Dvd |

I can't remember the hero's name, but in WC3 the Orcs had a samurai like hero. He was the one who had the special ability that had him spining in circles with his blade and the other one that made a mirror image of himself. |

Apprentice Posts: 2 Joined: 2 Aug 2006 | Personaly I would like to see something new thrown into the batch..... Maybe if we had some new aspects to the game like.......Gun Slinger - Dual Pistols.....oh yeah, Dancer - Warrior with a staff....Nifty, or possibly a new support character like a Bard who could Invigorate his teamates with Drums of War or scare the enemy with his Horn of Valiance and even deal crazy damage with somthing like a Harmonica of Ass Stomping LOL...... anyways you get the idea.......i would just like to see something surprising and new |
Apprentice Posts: 5 Joined: 8 Dec 2006 | if there was to be a new class it would probably be a ranged class/healer class it would probably be a thrower person or a bishop with some better offensive spells and healing spells where the priest is based on healing and support. yeah bishop would probably be a good new class. |
Apprentice Posts: 1 Joined: 4 Sep 2008 | wow, not very orignial class ideas or names. seriously. a bishop? bishop is higher than a priest. a MYSTIC maybe is a good name? RANGER? widely known name by the way, CRUSADER?AVENGER? BEASTMASTER? EXORCIST?BLADE SINGER?ACOLYTE?TEMPLAR?SENTINEL?SHADE even?OVERLORD?WARDEN?CHAMPION? |

I agree with you in the we need a New hero class. But what woudl it be. The original classes from the game covered every corner required. So what would it be? They only option left is to make a hybrid of some sort. Unless... Unless, we make some new support class that can externaly shift aggro on other character besides its self. A psycich or illusionist of some sort. A class thats geared toward team play but can tack a reasonable amount of damage. Like a druid, leather my not be much but it can still hold up better than cloth can! A dancer maybe? I can work sort of like a pally does. Where a paladin has seals a dancer has verses, were the paladin has judgements a dancer can have a floruish. This class can concerntrate on buffing and debuff. Maybe cast an allusion to 'tank' for it of serve as a destrcation. It could have spells that make some character seem more threatening, while others seem coudl seem less threatening. Maybe is can syphone aggro from one charater to another. This classes shouldnt have to much in terms of DD or instant heals, have it more dedicated to over time healing... I really dont know, but heal atleast I have an idea. So curently im winning!! Im dyslexic and english isnt my first language, I applogise for any grammatical errors. |

I'd be all for that class, though I would like a ranged DPS that is more fun to play than warlock or hunter. Warlock=DOT+shadowbolt Hunter= pet+shoot Which gets old after a bit (especially in PvE) So maybe a ranged magic user with abilities to use beyond DPS. Perhaps like you said a class geared towards team play that in raids/dungeons can use instant cast short term buffs. |

I know but it's nice to dream. Mmmm a spear or some sort of pole arm I like it. At least its better than sword/mace/axes |

I still for Dancer, give it a different feel from the other jobs. Some thing about entertianment and spice, maybe give it its own tricked out dance emote. Have it be a race specific hero class maybe, totally new race pulled out of nothingness? Im dyslexic and english isnt my first language, I applogise for any grammatical errors. |

well if a monk could choose between unarmed and a katana, he would choose the katana.
