yar! down with the wretched gnomes. i think that the best way to make this game uber would be to forget the evil buggers now.  instead of gnomes, why not some nice PANDAREN! have you SEEN the screenshots with these guys in them, they are freakin hardcore. why are we denied the power to maul things without being a druid!? a pandaren is a bear! we should be allowed to play pandas! stupid gnomes probably bribed the blizzard staff... I SAY WE NEED PANDAREN AS A PLAYABLE RACE. if not now, then in an expansion sometime soon! WHOS WITH ME!? say YAR!!!!

Pandas don't wanna join the Alliance, nor the Horde. But Pandariens are friendly to them, espicially to Dwarves (good beer) Tauren, and night elves. And they see that the Horde is healing from the corruption.

a valid point indeed OTZO, but why do we have to be on one side of the war either way? i think it would be sweet to be a nuetral race so that you could do stuff with both sides...

I disagree about making a neutral character , too many players would choose to be neutral taking away from the players needed for a great war. HOWEVER i do believe that since this is a new game, Blizzard could easily add to the story line making any race join a faction could they not

Im sure later in the game (expansion) panderans will become a playable race..i meen..there awesome heh..who doesnt want to be  brewmaster and big and fuzzy at the same time..but theres no way they can make them a playable race by thte time the game is released so were just going to have to wait and see

Personally, I don't like the pandaren much. They are too oriental for me, The World of Warcraft already has enough japanese and chinese influenced characters. I would rather be a gnome than a panda bear.

I agree with Clavicus. I don't see the appeal of them. It was a kinda funny insert to see them in W3, but really Panda-crew, they're not a major part of the game and just won't be. Hmmm . . . I better revise that to say I HOPE they just won't be. Boy, I'd hate to be wrong, though.

they could add Goblins , blood elfs, return of high elfs(hiden ones) naga for sure, an maybe even add a new race altogether to warcraft!

i think its was great to put gnomes into a playable race...just imagine a gnome group vs a tauren group!

that shall be a sight that must be seen!

That would be a funny match. Imagine the gnomes owning the tauren with spells and exploding sheep. Stupid pandas can't make exploding sheep. Gnomes are the closest things to goblins we have, to me at least.  Now i'm a horde guy myself, but i'd rather slaughter gnomes than a panda bear.

firstly pandas are neutral, secondly they would make the alliance more popular and it is already got the most people joining, and finally they would ruin the feel of the game cause they oo cartoony. They would be cool as an NPC

In wc3, they were only supposed to be an easter egg somewhere in the game (just like the penguin king). Someway though, the Pandaren sneaked in and got 100% ingame.

Hey sho_gun, im expressing my right to freedom of speech, no one told you that you had to read this post. im advocating a subject i believe needs to be spoken out about, why? becouse i havent seen anyone else mention it , thats why. if you dont like what i have to say, go move to another country where you'll quickly find out youd rather listen to some dude talk about "hey pandas should be in wow" instead of " man i sure wish we had more rights in this sucky country" or better yet, why dont you do something constructive like give me a reason why you agree/dont agree with me, thats why i posted here, to hear opinions about whether others think like i do, not to hear that Sho_Gun is tired of me talking about the damn pandaren.

The Pandaren were not meant to be part of the game at all. Then in the Night Elves' campaign they made The Biggest Panda Ever. Then they wanted to make a northrend creep so they used their BPE idea to make Pandaren. The Pandaren were just animals. But then, when Bliz made war3 TFT there came the Brewmaster. So we have one wild Northrend Panda and one dwarf in the form of a panda. Compare them. What you get is a scratch at an interesting creep swelling up to be a minor race. I don't like them at all. I just hope they don't become a main part of warcraft.

Hmm thats a good point meekol, i realize that they were not GOING to be a part of the game, but the key phrase here is just that , they werent going to be. Just the same as alot of aspects in the game. Its part of development in a good game to add stuff in at the last minute. thats what makes blizzard such a kickass company. they add stuff in at the last minute taht ends up being hella sweet. i know this seems like a shitload to read but damn the pandaren already have lore. they already have a history in the story now.

Heres the history of the pandaren copied and pasted from this site.

The Pandaren Empire, founded in ancient times before the Great Sundering of the world, shared resources and mystic knowledge with the haughty night elves of central Kalimdor. However, as the night elves' racial obsession with the forces of magic drove them to the brink of madness, the gentle pandaren decided to sever their ties and leave the night elves behind forever. Sensing that magic would be the doom of any race that trifled with it, the pandaren clans, or shao'dins, traveled far into the treacherous lands of the south. There the pandaren established crude, but beautiful cities of stone and sturdy bambus reed. They lived in peace for many generations before the burning shadow came to engulf the world...

After the War of the Ancients and the subsequent Sundering of the world, the pandaren's surroundings became increasingly hostile. Forced to fight for food and precious land against both the early tauren and the bristling quillboar tribes, they developed into amazingly proficient warriors. Wielding thin, delicately balanced blades, the pandaren wardancers quickly established themselves as some of the deadliest swordsmen of the ancient world. With the wardancers leading their armies, the pandaren carved out a small empire for themselves in the Stonetalon region of Kalimdor's desolate Barrens. Though the fierce wardancers maintained peace throughout the pandaren lands, their relatively small population would ensure that their influence would never spread much farther than the Barrens' rocky borders. Now that war has engulfed Kalimdor once again, the mighty pandaren have come forth to protect their sacred lands and ensure their ancient race's survival.

just reading that makes them sound badass, and have you seen the pictures depicted by Samwise? they are freakin sweet man! the pandaren are sweet. it just does not make sense to me that people would rather see gnomes in wow than pandaren. the godamn gnomes dont even match the rest of the game, have you seen the screen shots that have them? the dont match up with the rest of the models . they look to cartoony.

Wat a pitiful race they are..

Well I am sure that a lot of people would rather be seeing Gnomes taken out, and Pandern put into the Alliance, however people need to reliase that the Panda we properly will see ingame, will be eastereggs, not meant for actualy gameplay. But I agree, the Panda idea seems somewhat orginal.

What a stupid idea, Pandaren are a great example of the high fantasy genre giving way to cheesy cute crap, this isn't Final Fantasy 32: Anime Nerd Chronicles

You can summon something called "Mew the Cat" in Lineage 2, go knock yourself out geek-boy.

Actually I think most of us think of it as Blizzard catering to those of us with a sense of humor, rather than those who take their video games so seriously they get pissed off about Pandarans...

"Geek-boy". That's intimidating.

why are u guys always comparing gnomes vs taurens when trolls are largest?

Trolls=tallest, Tauren=heaviest.  Or for a real life comparison...A troll is more like Yao Ming, whereas a Tauren would be more like Shaq.

cuz gnomes got no coverage in wc3, and after a while i bet ppl would start asking "where have all the gnomes gone?" to which we would naturally respond "gone to mushrooms, every one" i feel a song coming on...

GNOMES ARE THE BEST I AM DISGUSTED THAT ANYONE WOULD GET RID OF THEM

im mean there SOOOOO tiny how can anything possibly be better when you think of that don't you think the gnomes are better then some smelly old pandas that sit and eat bammboo and bugs all day?

I think Gnomes deffinatly should have been in game, but, i would have rather seen them play a similer role that Goblins played.  Instead of gnomes, i of course, would have rather seen High Elves.

Dude, anything would be better than gnomes. What a sad and pathetic race.

What's wrong with gnomes?!  I thought they made great casters?  Anyway...

How about this for a neutral "alliance".  They make an expansion with 2-4 new races, all neutral.  Once you roll up your character, you choose an "affinity", with either the Horde, or the Allliance.  Once done, that slots you into either the Horde, or the Alliance, and as far as PVP goes, the other side can kill you.

But...you can change your affinity if you want to, through a quest.  Make it hard, but doable, and you can only take that quest once in your character's lifetime.  I think it would be cool to see a neutral race, helping out both sides, but still within the limits of the game's PVP content.

i lie the idea of a Panda better than a Gnome because 1 they have a much more elegant and colorful story to there lore and becoming. and 2, the horde have a bulky char the tauren, so maybe we could level it out with putting a 700 pound Panda in there face..... that and we allready have a mini race....the dwarves....no need for an even more smaller minority
