But it would be funny.

Just gets a tad annoying seeing the main forums covered in one poster whos contribution consists of "lol, i agree".

I vote change that badge to a warcry or escapist specific one. That way there's no incentive for them to spam us up to get bragging rights on the escapist.

But if that were the case, there'd still be people who didn't even know WarCry existed, and they might actually have something interesting to say.
I don't, obviously, because I am infinitely boring, but it could happen.
On topic: Eh...I quit WoW for WAR, but WAR doens't really have that many people on it, which is probably a vicious cycle of sorts. Less people stay because there are less people, 'causing more to leave, etc...

But 90% of them haven't had anything interesting to say.

You must be on one of the servers that have free transfers off then, or still in T1. Phoenix Throne is nicely populated, and most nights I see Dark Crag at full or at least high for both sides. If anything, I think people are returning to WAR now that many problems have been fixed, and the Choppa/Slayer are coming.

I'm playing both WoW and WAR right now, mainly just to play with some friends and the girlfriend, and to kill my time and bank account. lol

Eh...T1 and T2, yeah. I'm mostly trying out all of the classes to see which I prefer. I play Destruction on...Ostermark, I think it's called? And Order on Phoenix Throne.
Then again, I have a pretty fucked up (and rotating) sleep schedule, but I didn't notice a lot of people, even during primetime. But like you said, I'm not at T4 yet, so that might explain the lack of people.

EDIT: To be fair, 90% of humanity doesn't have anything interesting to say either.

T1 is pretty empty wherever you go, but you don't usually stay there too long.

Dark Crag and Badlands are two of the better servers to play Destruction on. I just got into T3 on Phoenix Throne, but in T2 I was able to find plenty of people. It can be hard to find people doing PQs and such, but if you just jump between the racial pairings you're bound to bump into someone, and now with the improvements to the Open Party/LFG system and the map it'll be even easier to find what PQs people are doing. The best way to find people is in ORVR warbands during the evenings (EST). On PT, there was almost always at least one full warband doing T2 RvR every night, and up to 3 or 4 running around together on the weekends usually.

If you end up as Order, feel free to look me up on PT: Groa, currently a 21 Ironbreaker.

I left world of warcraft a year ago and frankly I dont miss the game. A grindtastic clickfest populated with all sorts of weird peoples. Maybe I could return and play if I get what need to enjoy the game.

1) A new computer that would be more performant.
2) Perma death in the game.
3) Open PvP world like it was meant to be.
4) Better graphics (They should admit that 3D was not the way to go for their game).
5) Better AI for the NPC (Somehow, just dropping NPC like some chess pieces into the game world was a bad design idea)

If they can make those changes I would totally play that game again.

I still play WOW. Not as much as I did a while ago. I think I might just stop paying for it after this month. But ya I'm not going to get wotlk.

1) that one is up to you
2) Yes, that'd be fun, getting to level 80, getting ganked and spending months grinding up again.
3) I assume you played on a PvE server? There is open world pvp between factions and areas with totally open pvp
4) They're using the Warcraft 3 engine, that's like 10 years old - I think they made it look pretty nice considering and with every major patch graphical enhancements are coming.
5) Define better AI. Like in Oblivion? NPCs have a set schedule? That would never work in a world so large - Oblivion does it by only processing the AI for NPCs near you, in a multiplayer environment it would have to process individual AI for EVERY NPC in the world at the same time, just in case somebody was nearby. That's an insane amount of computation given the fact there are thousands of NPCs in the world.

That's why I say that 2D is the way to go. The amount of computation is more balanced toward gameplay then toward graphics thus giving the posibility of better AI.

I hate repetitive battles with monsters who have nothing but a single goal in their lives that just happen spawn at the exact same location over and over again.

Btw, grinding is no fun no matter how you put it.

Graphics are user-dependent - NPC AI would be server based.

The server just says "Entity 1 is here" and your machine loads "Entity 1" as whatever the model may be....Orc, Goblin, 50 foot ice giant, whatever.

so basicly you dont enjoy the concept of mmo's in general, but you still take the time to read and respond on mmo specific fan sites, interesting.

It's more fun that way... also the message never fall in deaf ears that way.

I could post this in some cute puppy forum but I doubt anyone will even listen to what I have to say.

I used to play WoW. Quit a while back, because of the mind-numbing tediousness; eventually I just logged in for raids, after that, I just stopped logging in altogether. I met a bunch of nice guys on there though.

WoW was good. Back in the 60 times; old AV and whatnot was godly. *drowns in nostalgia*

To be honest, I've started to feel that it's extremely dull nowadays. Planning to take a newbie dip to Warhammer and if that doesn't work, I'll probably ditch WoW for good.

But in the other hand, the RP iz what keeps me going there.

Got to 70 before expansion.

But.. it was really just the same thing over and over. All excitement went out the window.

SenseOfTumour:
I've been on since 3.02 and I can't believe the constant flow of negativity, firstly for a couple of days, all I was hearing was 'OMG Blizz sucks can't even keep up a lousy server when half the planet logs in at once' 'damn blizz give me free money you suk for my downtime'.

(To which I replied with 'Hey, have 1.5gb of free new content as payment for your whole 2 days of imperfect gaming')

Now the zombie event, turns out its not perfect for everyone. So the city trade chat is full of 'omg blizz stop the zombie crap I cant do anything this is so unfair!' and other such well argued points.

Then onto achievements, people actually complaining that players are playing the game to get achievements that don't do anything, they're just their for fun, its almost like they're playing the game just to enjoy it, lynch them!

Honestly, if I was Blizzard, I'd be wondering why I bothered patching it after release...

Anyways, I've been away a few weeks before patch 3.02, and now I'm back and I'm loving the game far more than before, its so lively, so many people are just DOING things instead of hanging around hoping something happens that they can join in with.

Achievements have encouraged 70s to go back and see what Onyxia, LBRS, MC, AQ etc were like, it means people are actually offering help on a lot of instances now, as 70s seem to go 'well, I want to tick Deadmines off my achievement list, I may as well take 4 low guildies with me!'

To me, its the greatest time it's ever been, and I'm firmly looking forward to when WOTLK hits, tho we've got some fun events set for the 12th to see off the old world!

wow has changed...

i saw loads of horror movies but the only thing that ever scared the crap out of me was when the robbie rabbit doll on eileens bed turned to face me (it was 2:00 and i was tired)

i quit wow when i heard they are making ulduar casual friendly....

blowing through a new raid in a week is not fun.

hard modes are not fun.

hard content from the get go is fun.

i kinda felt bad about it, my guild geared me up, i was almost all BiS within 2 weeks of getting 80. and i was ready for ulduar well before it came out, i ended up selling any non BoP and DEing any non essential gear and giving everything to my guild tho :D

I find it strange that I hated WoW but enjoyed EVE.

I think I might just enjoy the economic aspect.

Well, I quit both of them, so it doesn't matter.

If you play WoW you should hate yourself and might as well get addicted to heroin because either way you die an unproductive waste and at least with drugs you don't go to hell fat, and WORST OF ALL, I LOST THE GAME.

WoW forums bring out the troll in me. Why the hell is temptation at my doorstep? :3

Same old thing over and over gets extremely boring. Oh lets do 25naxx, oh wait its cleared lets do a 10naxx instead. Worst idea ever. Recently gave my account with a T7.5hunter and almost all Best in slot holy pally to a mate. Only thing that I enjoyed was my guild.

I got pretty over it in BC and stopped for a few months before the expansion, then came back in lich king. Didn't make it a month before i cbf anymore. It all just seemed so dull and stale. All the zones seemed exactly the same (SO MUCH SNOW!!!) None of the dungeons were particularly interesting after being played through once or twice, arena combat never seemed that fun, and vehicle combat just didn't fit with wow's established controls. Operating them was always so unwieldy. Just like flying mounts, they both just seemed tacked on to the game, never really integrated into the game

Battlegrounds should be removed for a straight month, and all realms should be PvP in any zone during this time. That would bring out the WAR in WARCRAFT.

I've hated it for a long while and I even hated it during the last 10 levels (60-70 in the day) but like all players I went on for the accomplishment, which was over after like 20 minutes of wasting money and time on level 70 stuff..

I think that being happy in WoW completely relies upon the player having chosen a class that they enjoy once they can no longer just throw the character away because they've spent too much time on it. I am happy.

For me personally, it's the people I know that make it. CBF doing a lot of the stuff they server up, but the people I've met and talked to over vent and really got to know, keeps me sticking around for raids and things of that nature. Cos thats the fun part for me, the social aspect of being with a bunch of peeps mucking around and occaisonally putting the serious face on and clearing some junk for purple pixels.

After reaching level 50 twice, I became bored and just wanted to be a rich 70.

Now that I'm on a private serve with an 80, I have no idea what I'm sposed to be doing, or how to play my character.

I find the dailies are "fun" if I don't do them every day. So chalk one up on the playing a lot less, but with enough new content lately to stay entertained - plus, I'm semi decent at jousting, which kind of but not entirely makes up for my utter loathing of anything vehicle related. Still, if the right people quit, I'll be hard pressed to stay.

I might come back and play WoW again.
I'd stopped playing Wow a few months ago now, right after leveling my Orc shaman to 70,
then running some instances in the Burning Crusade expansion.
Achievements in WoW aren't really something I'm looking for, or care about.

I have been unable to find an MMO that even comes close to WoW.
Most I've occasionally tried were just plain mediocre or terrible.

This tread hasn't mentioned anything that adds a sufficient reason to start playing again.
It hasn't given me new reasons that stop me from going back to WoW though. (I guess that's something.)

I used the free trial for WoW:LK but wasn't really impressed.
Death Knight starting area was fun and interesting...and then...
What lay before me for the Death Knight was outlands and the Burning Crusade content.
I personally didn't really like the expansion the Burning Crusade, especially the instances.
Also, I'd seen my friend leveling, questing in the Lich King expansion and wasn't really impressed.

I think the problem is I have just become bored of playing WoW.
I will probably come back to it, just it's going to take a while for it
to be as engaging as it was before.

(I'm sorry this post was so much longer than the others.)

Quit a couple months back because it was getting ridiculous. The level 80 cap was one thing, but the real issue for me was that all the things that made your character unique were gone. The fact that you can do anything you want now (switch factions, races, etc...) and how easy epics are to come by really make me miss Pre-BC. I ended up not being able to have fun anymore and left.
