Hai, I'm new at WoW and I'm a: lvl 6 - Blood Elf (male) - Paladin. When do I get a pet? (an animal to ride on?)

theres a few different catagories i should break down here as far as what you might be lableing as pets.
1. nuetral pets, which are simple fluff items, like dogs,cats,small birds,snakes, and tons of others.These are obtained threw the auction house, or certain special shops, and some from quests. These pets have no purpose other then looking cool.

2. Next, i should explain that the class called Hunters can "tame" (capture) certain animal monsters, and then use them as there personal attack helpers, the more you use them the more they lvl up with you.

3 Last but not least, it would seem by your post that you seemed to mix up the rideable animals as "pets", but in the game they are reffred to as "Mounts". These are special,larger animals that u can ride on to improve your travel speed. The 1st 1 you can optain is at lvl 40, and is kinda slow,and sense your a paladin, you will have to do a special quest to get your mount, but other classes and races can just buy the skill and the mount at 40. You get you next mount at lvl 60, and its much faster. If you play to lvl 70 you can then obtain the flying mounts in the Outlands.

Psst, with the next patch it's becoming level 30 for your first mount.

I wonder if they make the new types of mounts those siege types for the new combat area.

Next patch? As of patch 3.2, you get your first mount at 20, fast mount at 40, and flying mount at 60. The price has dropped radically as well. When I got the first mount for my hunter, I nearly fell out of my chair. I was able to get it with the change I dug out of my couch cushions. So far as I know, patch 3.3 is making no changes to mounts, though Cataclysm is going to give us a couple new racial mounts, including the goblin mount which isn't a mount at all, it's a little go-kart.

I soooooooooo can't wait for the goblin roadster. T_T!!!!!!

yes i hate this constant nerfing of things....how come blizz assumes everything is hard? Ppl have like 10 alts now . . . .no need of speeding the process up -_-`

Btw correct me if im wrong but the TCG turtle was usable frmo lvl 1 ? :P eh id love to see the faces of players after seeing someone on a mount at lvl 1 :D
