Overpowered means "not countered".

There is damage vs control confrontation in almost every PRG game.

And by control I mean crowd control. Without one the game would be just a DPS race. If your DPS is higher you win. Crowd control is hard to balance. Let's take for example 5-second stun. In the hands of the palladin this stun in ok because palladin just can't bring you down withing 5 seconds. In the hands of rogue stuns are deadly.

In the perfect world pure DPS classes will always lose to pure contol classes. If you're crowdcontolled you just can't do your magnificent damage at all.

In the World of Warcraft every class have some sort of CC abilities and counters. It's now wise to give a single class all the counters. Have your ever seen mage vs mage mirror duel? It's a counterspell/polymorph war. Basically if you time your counterspell right you'll win. So if every class would have counter to every CC the game would become "press your counter first" kind of game againts every class. (I can counter you, you can counter me. Spotted a rogue? Press "anti-rogue" button before he pressed his "anti-warlock" one.)

That's why CC is different and every class can counter only some sorts of CC. That's why "this game is not balanced for 1vs1 PvP".

Basically it means that if your enemy can CC you better than you can CC him, he's "overpowered" against you. For example, frost mage destory melee classes not because of his uber DPS but because of kitting. (Have you ever seen "rank 1 frostbolt vs rank 14 warrior" movie?).

So what's the most overpowered class then?

The most overpowered class is the class that has the most uncounterable CC against most classes. You name the one you like.

In so-called "mass PVP" every CC can be (and should be) countered/dispelled/prevented by your party member. Just stop making mass PvP unorganized DPS race and you'll be fine.

Overpowered just means "not countered". It does not mean your enemy has more "power" that you. You just can't counter his abilities and it makes you feel helpless and powerless.

Play smart (yes, shadow reflectors do count). Play as a team. Learn every class.

Reroll warlock. (Kidding)

PS.

I'm not gonna name The overpowered class. The is none. Some classes are just favor of the month and nothing more.

PSS.

Here's some essay about class balance in WoW I wrote: http://spectator.ru/technology/software/games/WoW
