Lots of elites wandering around and the air of danger is all around. Lord Kazzak seems to rule the zone from afar and the Dark Portal threatens to open at any time. It's pretty solid for questing and grinding from 48-50 and there's a variety of quest chains, not to mention the great stat buffs. |

While the lore behind it may seem kind of confusing, what with the War of the Shifting Sands events and what not, the characters there and the sense of urgency to get rid of the Silithid Swarms really makes me feel like part of the action. The variety of quests that actually deal with the 2nd War of the Shifting Sands (for lack of a better term) are seemingly repetitive, but they make you think you're part of this ongoing struggle against a colossal and ancient evil force. |

Posts: 1 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | My favorite zone has always been Tirisfal Glades but more specifically, the ruins of lordeon because I'm a crazy lore freak and it was cool to finally view where Arthas came a betrayed all of his people. If you turn up the volume of the ambience sound all the way you can hear EXACTLY what happens as you walk through courtyard (you hear medivh's crow chirping) the bell room (you hear the bell ringing) as you make your way through the hall (you hear the people cheering arthas's return) and finally the speech that tells you how arthas killed his father. Good stuff. |

It completly blew me away, the trees, the monsters and just the atmosphere of the Nightelf area I was just overwhelmed how beautiful it was. When I walked into Darnassus, I think that pretty much sealed it that I was going to get the game. |

Visually it is not as spectacular as Un'goro crater, a trade hub like Orgrimmar, or a raiding zone like Silithus. Hillsbrad is memories. It's like a childhood relic and everytime you come across it you get flashes of good memories. I can't count the hours I spent on ventrilo with friends pvping when pvp was for fun. Or questing when it was all a new experience. It's my favorite zone because I can remember sneaking into Southshore and spawning an elite ghost. I can remember fighting against alliance around and in that broken down Tarren Mill tower. I can remember pvping and questing with friends in the yeti caves. Hillsbrad is my favorite zone because above all it embodies what WoW strives for; fun for the sake of fun. Playing for the sake of playing. Not working towards loot, gold, or glory but for a good time. |

Posts: 7 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | My favorite zone would probably have to be Tirisfal Glades, because it visually brings to life the destruction that the scurge brought with them in Warcraft III. This really brings out the game lore, not only because you bring the capitol city of Lordaeron to life with the Undercity, but because you the Scarlet Monastary, one of the best instances in the game. It is just awesome to see how the forsaken have transformed the land, and you really get a feel for the battle that the Scarlet Crusade engages in against anything that is not Human in their eyes. |

Posts: 13 Joined: 13 May 2004 | My favorite zone in all of Azeroth has to be Ashenvale. I remember it quite clearly in the Night Elf campaign of Warcraft III, and it felt like I was home when I got there. From the dull purple tinge, to the soft choral music that permiates throughout then entire zone, I've never felt more immersed in the game than when I'm there. Even at higher levels I still enjoy visiting it every once in a while, just for the sense of nostalgia. |
Posts: 3 Joined: 25 Oct 2006 | My favorite zone is Mulgore. My main reason is that I love Taurens. But it's also a very beutiful and calm place, far away from the battles and horrors of Azeroth. The quests there are fun, and I like the way that almsot none of them is about war. Most of them is just, "We will need furs so we won't be cold this winter, gather them from the wolfs" or the quest of the Rites. The indian style is a great thing that gives the Taurens a unique culture where you really can see that they are a shamanistic, travelling race that recently got a land of their own. And of course, Thunder Bluff is just the most cool and beutiful city in Azeroth. |

Posts: 3 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | I would have to say Teldrassil , because it brings back so many memories from the privious warcraft games which i have played. I love seeing the Acient Protector stomping around the road, I love the 3 huntresses patroling the road between Darnassus and Dolanaar. It is such a peacefull zone and so beautiful. I loved the quest of freeing the druids of talon from the evil furbolg. I loved entering Darnassus for the first time and seeing the Ancient of War standing there, it brought back memories of massing archers in Wc3. Well thats a zone in Kalimdor, question asks for a favorite zone in Azeroth. My favorite zone in Azeroth would have to be Wetlands. That zone is sneaky, there are mobs everywhere, running across the zone to Menethil Harbor or from it to Loch Modan was so fun. Also that zone is so rich lore-wise. I remember venturing into Grim Batol at level 24 only to find level ?? skull dragons waiting for me, of course at level 60 is a whole different story. The other thing I love about that zone is the is the amount of murlocks you can find there, it is so amusing. Menethil Harbor is one of the most important cities in WoW beacause it is a hub between Kalimdor and Azeroth. |
Posts: 1 Joined: 4 May 2006 | My favorite zone Azeroth would have to be STV. I love the tropical environment and the troll settings, I play Horde. Everywhere you turn everythin is very colorful and this seems to bring everything to life. And lets not forget that the arena is there and who doesn't enjoy slaying a few Alliance after a day of hunting?! |
Posts: 3 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | I would have to say felwood, just going through there makes you feel like there is a demonic presence because the forest is so corupted. And being a hunter once i got my epic quest those 3 treants seemed so alive and suffering from demonic corruption i just felt like i was needed to do something but i couldn't.i was so emersed in the storyline it was almost to real to be true that demons could do such things to the world and defile this much nature.but like i said i couldn't do anything about it, but just being there i felt like i could. It was so real.I know its just a game for some but for me it was a bunch of feelings. |

As a lowbie, you get to level a bunch there, and at higher levels, you get to gank the lowbies, just like you got ganked while you were there. The BEST thing about Stranglethorn Vale however, is the Gurubashi Arena. On my server, we organize arena battles where the best of the best PvPers come out to strut their stuff. It's the most fun PvP ever, and one of the reasons I can't WAIT to try beta. P.S. Hi Shadow Syndicate! |

Posts: 2 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | My favorite place, easy, Un'Goro Crater. You cannot swing a dead cat in that place without hitting a mob. Lots of fun quests, new flight path, and the ever present Tyrant Devilsaur sneaking up behind you. It also means that I am in my early 50's and starting my prep for BRD and the other final 5-mans. Ahhh, the crater, a quick run from Gadgetzan, a Noggenfogger jump just past ZF, and you are in. Yup, my favorite place, I smile just thinking about it. Aloha |

Posts: 2 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | My favourite zone is STV. I am a 60 warrior and on that faithful sunny afternoon in STv i meet my most hated class a mage. It was there i charge him use reck, and killed him in two hitz, Lol so Stv is my favourite zone cuz its the place where i can own mages. Also because my favourite color is green and stv is green. I also likes forests/ |
Posts: 1 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | Tirisful Glade Just love the feeling of the place, but i'm a sucker for the undead. Plus its nice leveling in a place that isn't all orange (Durotar/Barrens) |
Posts: 1 Joined: 6 Nov 2006 | Zul'Gurub I especially enjoy the Zone of Zul'gurub in WoW. It represents a great middle ground for many gaming styles. It has a tone of Lore for the Role Player. The bosses Are challenging and unique in their design. The zone is fun and doable by guilds and groups with gear ranging from greens to Tier 3. The layout and aesthetic qualities of the Zone are nothing short of inspiring. There is a little something for just about everyone in Zul'Gurub, that is why it is my Favorite zone. If i had to live anywhere in WoW it would be in ZG. (Unless of course that Bloodgod Hakkar was still roaming about, that wouldnt be too much fun) |
Posts: 3 Joined: 7 Nov 2006 | My favorite zone in Azeroth would have to be the Blasted Lands. This is my favorite zone on Azeroth because of the lightning bolts, pigs on fire, and the Dark Portal. I like the way wway the zone has a mix of humanoids, and beast. They also have some very cool quest where you can get a huge hour buff to raise certain stats. They have an awesome quest chain in the blasted lands where the end fight takes place on top of a mountain. There is a HUGE dragon that you can kill with a group as well that floats around the Blasted Lands. The best part of Blasted Lands hands down though would have to be the Dark Portal! It has nasty elites walking around guarding it, and it just looks so cool. I like to explore, and would love to just get on my epic and jump threw the Dark Portal to see what i encounter, and that is why the Blasted Lands is my favorite zone in Azeroth. |

Posts: 3 Joined: 7 Nov 2006 | Forgot about Lord Kazz in the Blasted Lands. I like fighting him because you also get to fight the horde/alliance at the same time to make the battle more difficult. The side that holds the better strategy wins. |

I have seen the beg. and end of that zone and have my full t1 set from there =) It was a great experience from getting my first set of arcanist to getting my staff of domination. I also enjoy watching guildies from enshadowed finally get the rest of their sets as well ! |

Posts: 1 Joined: 7 Nov 2006 | Felwood. Corruption everywhere. Abominations of nature roaming the rivers of green unnamable sludge. Fire elementals scattered among the scorched, pock-marked land. Twisted treants maddened to a frenzy . Then of course are the Demons... roaming free and ripe for enslaving as I wreak havoc on the already magic-scarred woods of horror. Nothing more fun than telling an fire-immune Infernal to beat an Entropic Horror to non-existance... all for a little essence. Crap, no drop. Time to keep farming... =/ |

Feralas is my favorite zone.
Nice, relaxing, lush forests. It's just a relaxing place to be and level, or do whatever. The lighting makes the character look neat and the lighting also is just a kind of light you normally don't see in an every day world.
It's almost like Feralas is a mini getaway.
