i bet its more about how you build the rogue not what race he is, any rogue could be the "tuffest" pending how you make him, not what speicies he is.

i agree no MMO would make a game with a unbalanced race system

I would agree that there is a balancing system in place, but I'd wager that the stats of some races fovor the rogue class more than others.  We're just taking a stab at which race that might be.  I'll put my money on Troll for now too.

well dwarfs probly will make good rogues but my money is on Gnomes. They have to make up for being short and week there probly fast and agile.

Trolls are extremly agilty based to, but Gnomes are smart too, however if we are talking most hitpoints my best Guess would still lie upon the Dwarf =)

undead rogue? I'm surprised rogue was an undead class at all. Sneaking up to this guy to backstab even though he probably knows because of the spell. The fact i'm braindead and shambling and constantly moaning not helping.

yeah the Undead arent like the Ghouls or abominations in WC3, they are released from Arthas and have minds of there own. I expect them to be fairly inteligent, bordering orc inteligents maybe even...

Well what the hell. what about elf. High dext high speed is more important then strength. i dont know but in all the other rpg's elfs and gnomes were allways best suited for this role. orrect me if im wrong. But dwarwz re clumzy and troll sounds pretty dum top be a rouge how good rouge can u be if you 20ft long

20 feet long ? Are you talking about trolls ? I have trouble understanding your english ? heh. Anyway the best rogue will all depend on how Blizzard calibrates the rogues special abilities based on what attribute they are maintained around.

Well see if they make rogue special abilities say agility based then the strongest rogue would be the worst.

We have no way of knowing that yet, some of their skills may yet be agility based, otherwise the rogue would be a pointless class if he focused on nothing but strength.

Backstab's damage may be strength but as far as the efficiency in which it is landed, agility might come into play.

Thats what im talking about...i dont think that strength is the most important thing for rogue. Thats why i think Orc and troll would be pretty bad rogues.

What do you people think about the idea of having an Elf rogue?

I think elves would make fine rogues, dexterous and agile, as well as being strong.  Now originally I didn't think of Night Elves and strength in the same sentence but a Blizzard employee mentioned the Night Elves strength.

Night Elves strength?  I've read only about their relative frailty.  still they would make excellent rogues.  as would Undead, which have human intelligence approximately, not orcish.  All the Forsaken are former humans, and they have not lost any intelligence (or so I read somewhere)  The feign death ability might be a great way to 'sneak' up on someone and use a nice backstab attack =).  Shadowmeld may be pretty handy for that as well.

i agree with sipher about the night elf rogue being really good. i'm not a night elf lover or anything (probably will be human priest or something) but shadowmeld combined with good night elf dexterity would make them a good choice. also being a rogue is good for night elf since they'll probably be able to sneak past powerful enemies and use their natural skill in finding herbs to make some good high lvl potions relatively early in teh game.

You speak wisely, hondasn.  I'm convinced now that Night Elves would make formidable rogues within the lore. As for the actual game, I'm sure all races will make equally "tough" rogues.  That's just the way Blizzard works.  Why would they let you make a character if it wasn't feasable or viable as a successful character? That goes against the company's "user-friendly" policy.

Night elves = shadowmeld. Shadowmeld + backstab = death to enemies.

Did all of you just turn Night Elf Rouge fans or have you been hiding in the shadows? =) I've thought of Night Elves as good rogues for a while now, and thats what I plan on being (I'm the only one that is not going to be a Hunter or a Druid).

For the Horde's side, my guess is Troll. Don't know why. It just seems that they would be good at it as well.

SaharaDrac, there will be no Male/Female differences, would simply be stupid if male didn't have the ability to shadowmeld as well. All would be playing females =/

TROOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL... at first may seem like it rhymes with drool.  But rest assured, should you shout it, just give a very jamaican or trollish cry, mon.  Troll rogue... maybe if they have uber features, a pirate band of trolls, sailing the high seas...
