Get the AddOn
The WarCry Scout is a user interface add-on and program launcher for World of Warcraft that records information about WoW and sends it to WarCry to be included in our shared database. It also includes a very helpful mapping system, which can not only help locate the coordinates we return from our database, but will also find nearby trainers, merchants, and other important locations.
Installation
Installing Scout is simple - just unzip the file, and place the Collector directory into your World of Warcraft AddOns directory (default:
In order to send the data to us, you'll also need to run our launcher,
If you plan on running Scout, we suggest changing your WoW shortcut to run the launcher instead. This makes sure that your data is sent to us each time you play, and cleans the old data from your file to keep performance up.

wowupload.exe, which is located in the same directory. This program will send the data you've collected to us, and then launch WoW automatically. The first time you run it, it will ask you for your WarCry username and password - don't worry, the password is encrypted when it's stored. If you plan on running Scout, we suggest changing your WoW shortcut to run the launcher instead. Scout
OK, but what exactly does it do?
When you have our AddOn running as part of the WoW interface, it records information while you play. This information includes locations of creatures and NPCs, loot drops, quest givers and rewards, item stats, and other similar information. By running the launcher to start WoW, you send up all the data you collected last time you played, which we parse through daily and add to our database.
Is this against the Terms of Service?
As an interface add-on, and not a third party program, the Scout is allowed under the World of Warcraft EULA just like any interface modification. Our launcher reads and sends us only the data that has been collected by the AddOns, and does not touch any of the World of Warcraft cache or data files.
I ran the AddOn and Launcher, but I don't see any messages and I don't see any data on the site!
If everything is working properly, you won't see any messages at all (except when we ask you for your username and password). We've tried to get the game to launch as fast as we can, so running the launcher is as painless as possible. We'll be adding some more feedback into the launcher in one of the next versions.
We parse through the submitted data and add it into the database once a day, at around 3AM EST. Also take into account that the data isn't submitted until the next time you run the launcher, so when you log out for the night we won't get anything you collected until next time you log in.

Additional Feature: MapFind
You didn't think we were going to mooch off your data and not give something back, did you? I bet you've noticed that the guards in major cities will tell you where certain services are available, if you ask. Wouldn't it be nice to have that ability anywhere? Well, now you can - just use the commands below while Scout is installed to find locations in your current zone.
- /mf loc
- Displays your current location in XXXX,YYYY format.
- /mf coords XXXX,YYYY
- By providing a set of coodinates, a mark on your main map and minimap appear. You can get these coordinates from our database, other players, or the /mf loc command
- /mf trainer [type]
- By default, this will show you the location of the trainers for your class. To find a different type of trainer, fill in [type] with the trainer you'd like to find. Example: "/mf trainer mining" will give you the location of mining trainers.
- /mf mailbox
- Helps you locate any mailboxes in the zone.
- /mf inn
- Ever try to find the innkeeper in Arathi? This should help.
- /mf merchant [type]
- Need to find a specific type of merchant? Just fill in the type and you'll get only the ones you're looking for.
- /mf graveyard
- Gives you the location of graveyards in the zone. For those of us that visit them often.
- /mf transport
- Locates all sorts of transportation, whether by gryphon, bat, airship, boat, or anything else.
- /mf clear
- Clears out your current search and removes the icons from your main map and minimap.
- /mf help
- Gives you a helpful, comprehensive list of commands.
